Alexis Hinman is a New York City based Stage Manager from Iowa City, Iowa.

Alexis is a freelancer with a deep love for music-based art forms including theatre, opera and dance.

Alexis was a Stage Management Apprentice at The Juilliard School for the 2021-22 season where she worked in the Drama, Dance, Vocal Arts and Office of the President divisions. While at Juilliard, Alexis worked with and received mentorship from well-seasoned professionals in the arts industry and had the opportunity to work on a variety of genres of live performance.

Alexis graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2020 with a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a Stage Management Focus and Event Management Certificate. During her time at UIOWA, Alexis stage managed new works and served as Associate Production Stage Manager for the New Play Festival in 2019. She also coordinated several events for local organizations after beginning the Event Management Certificate. After graduating in Spring 2020, Alexis worked at two local thrift stores, Plato’s Closet and Once Upon a Child, before moving to NY. She received the E.C. Mabie Scholarship during her time at UIOWA for her contribution to the theatre arts program.

During her undergraduate, career Alexis began working internationally at Dash Arts London where she worked as the Production Stage Manager and Company Manager for an interactive installation, “The Forum,” at the Latitude Festival. She continues to work internationally on touring productions with Ballet Hispánico and other organizations.

A dog and cat mom, and plant lover (sometimes killer) - when not in the theatre Alexis loves spending time with her pets, making friendship bracelets, learning Spanish on Duolingo (over 1000+ day streak), and eating a lot of ice cream. She has an adorable tuxedo cat, Cooper, and a high-energy terrier mix, Rosco, who insists on sleeping under the covers each night.

Alexis and her fiancé Toby are so excited to tie the knot in August 2026 in NYC. They met at the University of Iowa and have been together since 2020.
